Newton To Have Ankle Surgery, Out 4 Months

(WOLO) — The Carolina Panthers confirmed Tuesday quarterback Cam Newton will have ankle surgery Wednesday and will miss the next four months of offseason workouts. Newton injured his ankle in week but played through the pain for the rest of the season. The Charlotte Observer reports the surgery will be to tighten up Newton’s ankle ligaments. The All-Pro QB is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in August.
