Man denied bond in deadly Sumter County beating
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – A 33-year-old man remains behind bars, following a violent beating at a home in Sumter County. On Tuesday, a judge denied bond for Jason Compton. He is facing numerous charges, including murder and attempted murder. Deputies say Compton beat a woman to death with a hammer over the weekend. He is also accused of attacking that woman’s 14-year-old daughter and a disabled woman.
