HomeWorks is ‘Moving On,’ Needs Volunteers

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) — Homeworks of America, a non-profit organization that assists the elderly and also low-income families repair their houses, has to vacate its warehouse by June 1 and needs volunteers to help with the massive move. According to founder and CEO, Hank Chardos, volunteers young and old are needed to move 15,000 sq. ft. of tools and equipment to another warehouse. The HomeWorks warehouse has been sold and the move-out date is June 1. Here are dates for the move: Friday, May 16th, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17th, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21st, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22nd, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 23rd, 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24th, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 30th, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31st, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Hammers, ladders, wheelbarrows and much more need to be relocated, enabling Home Works to repair homes of the elderly and disadvantaged.
