Husband Accused of Shooting Wife

SPARTANBURG, S.C. Deputies have arrested a Clifton man in connection with the shooting death of his wife in their Spartanburg County home. The sheriff’s office said deputies were sent to a home on Saturday after a 911 call. When the deputies arrived, they found Mitzi Yvonne Emery Larson dead from a gunshot wound. Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Mitzi Larson’s 42nd birthday was on Friday. Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Lt. Tony Ivey said 42-year-old Michael Lee Larson told deputies during an interview that he shot his wife with a shotgun. He is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Michael Larson is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center, where he is awaiting a bond hearing. Documents from the sheriff’s office didn’t say whether he had an attorney.
