Kidnapped Woman Escapes

(WOLO) ANDERSON, S.C., — Deputies say a 23-year-old woman kidnapped at gunpoint in Anderson County has returned home safely. Authorities say they are still looking for 36-year-old Matthew Leopard, who faces kidnapping and other charges after Saturday’s incident. Deputies say Leopard pulled a gun on the woman around 2 p.m. Saturday after they argued in an Anderson home, ordering her into his Toyota 4Runner SUV. Investigators say Leopard also stole a cellphone from someone else in the house. The woman told deputies that Leopard released early Sunday morning. She was able to get a ride home from a passing driver. Deputies say Leopard and the victim had an on and off relationship. (Source: Associated press)
