Man shot to death in Summerton
SUMMERTON, S.C. (AP) — A 29-year-old Summerton has been shot to death and Clarendon County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a suspect.
The Sumter Item reported (http://bit.ly/1vrZR5q) that Dominee L. Lawson died shortly before 1 a.m. Monday at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Coroner Hayes Samuels says Lawson was shot in the abdomen late Sunday night.
The sheriff’s office said a 35-year-old Summerton man has been taken into custody. Charges were pending.
Deputies and Summerton police were called to a mobile home around 11:45 p.m. Sunday and found Lawson on the floor of his kitchen.
Sheriff’s Maj. Kipp Coker said the two men had been arguing which resulted in a fight that ended with Lawson being shot.
Lawson’s body was sent to Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy.
