Mariners demote Smoak to Triple-A

(WOLO) — The Mariners have demoted former Gamecock Justin Smoak to Triple-A. The 27-year old was taken off the disabled list after missing nearly a month with a strained quadriceps. Smoak was struggling before the injury, hitting .208 with seven homers in 63 games.
