Columbia offering blues, barbecue for 4th

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Music and food are part of a holiday celebration scheduled for Columbia this weekend.

On Friday, the city’s Parks & Recreation Department is putting on Blues & BBQ on the River at Coble Plaza behind EdVenture Children’s Museum.

Admission is free, and $15 tickets for food, beverages and seating on the terrace will be for sale. No coolers are allowed.

The event features music from Elliott & the Untouchables.

The city is also hosting a Capital City Beach Party at Finlay Park on Saturday.
