Richland County holds second meeting on sanitary sewer project

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The construction of a new sanitary sewer system in lower Richland County is backing up a bit… with your comments. Officials want to fix a number of malfunctioning septic tanks and the threat that it poses to your water. Also on their minds is growth in the area. Officials say the only way to control where businesses will come is to make sure the sewer infrastructure is acceptable. But some local residents say they’re not sure about the cost of the project. That’s what came out during a community meeting held Monday. A second meeting is taking place Thursday night. It will be held at the same time and in the same place. That’s six o’clock at Hopkins Park Adult Activity Center. Officials will once again present information on the project, and then they will hold a question-and-answer session.
