Department Of Juvenile Justice Investigation Update

Columbia, SC (WOLO)-The Department of Juvenile Justice remains under investigation by Sled tonight following the death of a sixteen year old. Three employees have been suspended. we reported Monday that 16 year old Alan Cottrell died, according to the coroner, of an apparent suicidal hanging. We’re told D.J.J. staff found Cottrell around midnight Sunday. SLED confirmed the investigation, but gave no further details.
