Construction on Bull St. Development to Start This Year

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — During Monday’s Bull Street Commission meeting, ABC Columbia News learned construction on Columbia Common will begin this year. The space will include retail and office space, a dine-in movie theater and a minor league ball park. Developer Bob Hughes says dirt will move around on the property between August-September of this year. We’re also told you could expect to see pedestrian traffic in the area by Fall of 2015. “There will be a residential project open over there. There will be an office building, I believe, a small office building. There may be 1-2 small retail buildings open by the Fall of 2015,” says Hughes. The well-talked about baseball stadium will open April 2016. City leaders are planning a trip to Durham, North Carolina next month to look at a ball park there.
