Spurrier Finishes Celebrity Tourney Strong

(WOLO) — When preseason practice starts for the Gamecocks soon, Steve Spurrier can put away his golf clubs a satisfied man. Spurrier finished the celebrity American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, NV Sunday with a solid round of 82. The Ball Coach made his final putt from about 30 feet for his third birdie of the day. Spurrier tied with Roger Clemens for 58th place in the tournament. Gamecock great Sterling Sharpe finished tied for 11th. Former Washington Redskins quarterback Mark Rypien won the event after a three-hour rain delay Sunday afternoon.
