Man shot at Prosperity party charged with murder
NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man wounded in a shooting at a party in Newberry County last weekend has been charged with murder in the death of another person at the gathering.
Sheriff Lee Foster said 29-year-old Jonathan Dominick was arrested Tuesday after he was released from the hospital.
Deputies say more than 100 people were at a party in Prosperity early Sunday when several shots were fired. Authorities say 19-year-old Zemeckis Houston died from a gunshot to the head.
Foster says Dominick and Houston had an ongoing dispute. The sheriff says there is no evidence that Houston had a gun, and deputies are still trying to determine if Dominick shot himself or someone else was firing.
It wasn’t known if Dominick had a lawyer.
