Man’s Body Found by Railroad Tracks in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Officials are investigating the death of a man whose body was found beside railroad tracks in Spartanburg. The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said 52-year-old Ray Thompson’s body was found by a passing train crew near some CSX tracks around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say Thompson lived about 200 yards away and would use a trail through the woods and across the track about every day. Investigators said there was no immediate indication of foul play. An autopsy has been scheduled.
