Shaw Signs With Browns Practice Squad

(WOLO) — Connor Shaw officially has a job in the NFL. A day after failing to make Cleveland’s 53-man roster, Shaw cleared waivers and signed with the Browns practice squad. USC’s all-time winningest quarterback played in two games this preseason. The undrafted rookie completed 8 of 9 passes for 123 yards and a 45-yard hail mary touchdown at Washington. Practice squad players make up the scout team during the week and aren’t eligible to play in NFL games unless moved to the active 53-man roster. Cleveland only kept two quarterbacks on its active roster:returning starter Brian Hoyer and first round draft pick Johnny Manziel. Several other Gamecocks signed with practice squads Sunday: Jimmy Legree – Arizona Cardinals Travian Robertson – Atlanta Falcons Ronald Patrick – Dallas Cowboys Kelcy Quarles signed with the New England Patriots Sunday after being cut by the New York Giants Saturday.
