Reports:Clowney Out 4-6 Weeks

(WOLO) — According to multiple reports, former Gamecock Jadeveon Clowney will have knee surgery on a torn meniscus Monday and will miss the next 4-6 weeks. The #1 overall NFL draft pick left the Houston Texans season opener just before halftime. Clowney appeared to injure his right knee by landing awkwardly after attempting to knock down a Robert Griffin III pass with less than 3 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. Clowney returned to the game after that play but exited soon after. Houston went on to beat Washington 17-6. After the game rookie Texans head coach Bill O’Brien said, “They think it’s a good prognosis so it looks like it’s going to be OK. He may miss some time, he may not. Who knows? So we’ll know better as the week goes on.”
