Columbia Woman Found Bloodied and Beaten

(WOLO) CAYCE,S.C., — ” it’s just like disbelief because you don’t want to think anything like that has happened in your neighborhood.” Home sweet home is just a little bitter for some residents who live near the 12th and Poplar street intersection where police say a woman was attacked while riding her moped. Roy Martin says he has only lived in the area for about a month. In that time things have been quiet, according to him. But Martin says that changed when he saw two men trying to flag down police this weekend after he says they found a woman bloodied, beaten, disoriented and clinging to life near this train track. ” I followed a man down the street and he pulled a pair of jeans from the woods that were bloody from the waist down to the ankles and a pair of panties were in the street.” A graphic image that’s not sitting well with neighbor Anastashia Gooding. “Just to think that someone can be left for dead right by my house and beaten just from coming around the corner. I mean, you just never know who you are walking by. Who is the person who did it, you just don’t know and to know they haven’t been caught it’s just dangerous.” Cayce Department of Public Safety says they’re committed to finding the facts surrounding what happened to this young woman. Right now they say their thoughts are with the victim.
