State Trooper Fired

Columbia, SC (WOLO)- A state trooper is off the job tonight…fired. Lance Corporal . S.M. Groubert was terminated by Public Safety Director Leroy Smith. According to the department on September Fourth Groubert fired shots at an unarmed man on during a traffic stop at a circle-k convenience store off Broad River Road. Investigators say the victim has been treated and released from the hospital. Director Smith says the incident has been turned over to The Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office to determine if there will be any criminal charges filed against Groubert.
