Officer-Involved Shootings in South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — This week brought on the latest officer involved shooting in South Carolina this year. Lexington deputies say they were responding to a burglary call at a home on Drooping Leaf Drive around 12:30 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, deputies say, they found a ransacked bedroom and encountered two suspects. One suspect, 18 year old Adrian Ryans, was shot and another, 17 year old Madison Falls, was arrested. Falls appeared before a Lexington county judge Tuesday where he was denied bond. Meanwhile, his alleged accomplice remains hospitalized with, according to deputies, non-life threatening injuries. This year’s officer-involved shootings are comparable to years past. Here are the totals, per SLED, 2013 (42), 2012 (44), 2011 (38) and 2010 (30).
