Video Released in Trooper-Involved Shooting
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — It’s the video shocking the Midlands, now former South Carolina Highway Patrolman Sean Groubert accused of opening fire on an unarmed man. “Can I see your license, please?” say Groubert asks Jones. The video then shows the traffic stop taking a turn. Even after 35 year old Levar Jones puts his hands up,Groubert is accused of continuing to fire. The incident resulted in Groubert being fired from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He is also charged with Assault in a High and Aggravated Nature. He was granted a $75,000 bond Wednesday. We reached out to both Groubert and Jones’ attorneys for a comment, we haven’t heard back from either.
