Another CVS store target of robbery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Police say they’re investigating another report of an armed robbery at a CVS store in Columbia. This one occurred Saturday night around 9 in the 900 block of Assembly Street. A man allegedly went up to the counter and demanded cash. The clerk told officers she didn’t see the suspect present a weapon, but he acted like he had one. The suspect is described as a white man, possibly between the ages of 35 and 40. He had a beard. The man was also seen wearing a long sleeved green shirt with khaki pants and a dark blue baseball cap with the word “Navy” in gold letters. If you can help identify that suspect, you’red asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. In the meantime, Columbia Police are also looking for a man. He’s wanted in connection with an armed robbery case at the CVS store off Harden Street Extension. Last weekend, officers say the suspect pointed a handgun at store employees and at least one customer, telling them to get on the ground. Apparently, he wanted access to the pharmacy but ended up leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash on foot. No word if the two incidents are connected, but police say there are similarities.
