Man: Co-worker Threw Him Over Lowcountry Bridge

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) _ A man who survived being thrown off a North Charleston bridge by his co-worker says the man said nothing before attacking him. The co-worker jumped in the water after the man and has not been seen since. In a police report released Monday, the Pinnacle Construction worker said he was playing on his cellphone Friday as his co-worker stopped on the Interstate 526 bridge over the Ashley River. The man says the co-worker grabbed his legs and tried to throw him over. He grabbed the bridge’s retaining wall, but the man pried his fingers loose. The man told police the co-worker then dove in and tried to attack him in the water, but he swam away. Other motorists who saw the incident called police, and they rescued the man.
