Janitor Gets 9 Years for Secret YMCA Taping
YORK, S.C. (AP) _ A 60-year-old man has been sentenced to nine years in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender for using secret cameras to tape women in bathrooms at two YMCA facilities in York County. The Herald of Rock Hill reports (http://bit.ly/1poRt3I ) that John Eddy’s lawyer asked the judge to only give him probation after he pleaded guilty Tuesday. But a dozen of the 36 victims investigators found in Eddy’s secret records were in court, and the judge sided with the pain, fear and loss of privacy the women felt. Authorities say Eddy hid a camera in a shower stall, toilet paper dispenser, under a sink and in other areas at the YMCA in Lake Wylie and Tega Cay in the spring of 2013. ___ Information from: The Herald, http://www.heraldonline.com
