SC State Steps Up Security

Orangeburg, SC (WOLO)- South Carolina State University says it has stepped up training for officers and improved security systems following a deadly shooting earlier this year. Brandon Robinson was shot and killed on the campus following an argument with another man. Campus Police Chief Gregory Harris tells The Orangeburg Times And Democrat the university has been carrying out training drills so the campus can be quickly locked down in the event of another shooting. In addition, Harris says all security officers are now operating on the same radio frequency and additional cameras have been placed across campus. He adds, however, there is only one siren to alert the campus, but they need at least three.
