Haley, Sheheen wrap up statewide campaign tours
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and state Sen. Vincent Sheheen are making their last appeal to voters as they wrap up statewide tours.
Haley’s bus tour included a stop Monday in Sheheen’s hometown of Camden. She’ll end the day at Harmon’s Tree Farm in Lexington County for a rally with all Republicans running for statewide offices. The Gilbert event is in Haley’s former state House district. The farm is the same place Republicans rallied on Election Day-eve four years ago.
Sheheen is making seven stops Monday to thank supporters and volunteers in get-out-the-vote efforts. He’ll end his day in Camden.
Haley is widely expected to win re-election. She would be the fourth governor to do so since a constitutional change approved by voters in 1980 allowed a second consecutive term.
