Dorn VA offers veterans caregiver seminar

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The Dorn VA Medical Center is offering an all-day seminar to assist caregivers of veterans suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

Friday’s session is being held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Medical Center’s auditorium off Garners Ferry Road in Columbia.

The session is for professional and non-professional caregivers as well as family members. It will provide information on dementia, the management of difficult behaviors and quality of life issues. It will also review community and VA resources for individuals and families.
