Columbia VA holds claims workshop for veterans

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The Columbia regional office of the Department of Veterans Affairs is holding a one-day workshop for veterans and their families to help them with claims and benefits.

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday at the VA Regional Office at 6437 Garners Ferry Road.

There will be two sessions, one at 5 p.m. and another at 6 p.m.

Specialists are on hand to help veterans and family members learn about the VA disability compensation claims and appeals process. Vets will learn how to set up benefits accounts online and navigate the department’s resources.

There is free parking available directly in front of the VA Regional Office.
