2 found guilty in Columbia bakery killing
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Two men have been found guilty in the killing of a mother of four who was shot while she worked at a Columbia bakery last summer.
Local media outlets report that a jury deliberated three hours before delivering its verdict Wednesday.
A judge then sentenced 20-year-old Lorenzo Young to life in prison on charges including murder and kidnapping. A 17-year-old defendant will be sentenced later on the same charges.
A third defendant will be tried separately.
Police said that the two defendants and another man decided to rob the bakery early one morning after finding out the bar next door was closed. Thirty-three-year-old Kelly Hunnewell fought back and was shot, and the men left with nothing.
