Police search for suspect in attempted sexual assault

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Police in Columbia are looking for a man who allegedly attacked a woman in Downtown Columbia. Officers say she was grabbed by the suspect while walking along the 1300 block of Pickens Street Sunday afternoon. She claims he forced her to a nearby area and tried to sexually assault her. The woman screamed, and apparently, someone – nearby – heard her, running to the woman’s aid. The suspect then fled. Police have released this sketch of what the suspect may look like. He’s described as a black man, possibly between the ages of 20 and 30. He’s around 5’9″ and weighs close to 150 pounds.
