2 die in wreck on I-20 in Kershaw County

CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) — State troopers say two people driving east on Interstate 20 in Kershaw County have died after the driver lost control.

Authorities say a 1999 Saturn ran off the left side of I-20 around mile marker 91 around 7:15 p.m. Friday. The driver then went off the right side of the road trying to regain control, hit a guardrail, was struck by a second car and overturned.

Kershaw County Coroner Johnny Fellers told media outlets that the victims are 28-year-old Tiffany Bethea of Marlboro County and 21-year-old Jamie Fludd of Marion County. Troopers say both were wearing seatbelts.

Authorities say the driver of the second car was taken to the hospital. A condition for that person is not known.

Troopers say no charges have been filed in the crash.
