Spurrier Will Be Back In 2015

Steve Spurrier isn’t going out like that. Monday the Head Ball Coach confirmed to several media outlets that he will be back for the 2015 season. This news coming off a disappointing 6-6 season as the head football coach at South Carolina, his 10th year in Columbia. “Everything’s on go, and I’m full speed ahead,” Spurrier told ESPN.com on Monday. “When you’ve done it as long as I have and have some of the disappointing losses we did this year, a lot of stuff runs through your mind. But in the long run, this is the best thing for me to do. They seem to want me here. “Now, if they didn’t want me here, it would be time to move on. But we’ve got a good recruiting class coming in, and it’s still a really good situation.” Spurrier has an 83-45 record at USC. He told The State newspaper he plans to coach beyond next season. “Give me two or three more,” he told The State. “I used to say four or five, now I‘m down to two or three. I mean, I could get in a car wreck, but I‘m definitely planning on being back.”
