Clemson tight end Seckinger to miss bowl game

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson backup tight end Stanton Seckinger will miss the team’s bowl game because of a knee injury sustained against South Carolina on Saturday.

Seckinger injured a knee ligament on a short reception in the first half of the 19th-ranked Tigers’ 35-17 victory. He was helped off the field, holding his left leg off the ground as he was taken to the locker room.

The school said Monday that Seckinger will need surgery and won’t be available for the postseason.

Seckinger is a redshirt junior who played in all 12 games, starting once this season against Georgia State. He finished the season with nine catches for 122 yard and a touchdown.
