2 men charged in shooting death of Rembert man

SUMTER, S.C. (AP) — Two Sumter men have been charged with murder and armed robbery in the shooting death of a man in Rembert.
The Sumter Item reported Wednesday (http://bit.ly/1vjDVsd ) that Sumter police filed the charges against 20-year-old Marquez Stevens and a 17-year-old in the shooting of 25-year-old Lance Lynell Myers. The report said the 17-year-old also faces charges of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon under the age of 18.
The newspaper said Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock confirmed that Myers died from a single gunshot wounds. Authorities found Myers’ body Monday outside a vacant apartment building.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether either of the suspects had an attorney.
