Trooper Involved in Deadly Crash

(WOLO) GREENVILLE, S.C., — Authorities say a 22-year-old Greenville County man is dead following a collision with a state trooper who was chasing another vehicle. Multiple outlets report Taylor Miller of Simpsonville was the passenger of a Nissan SUV in the wreck at an intersection at 12:10 a.m. Friday. Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler says Miller died at a hospital Friday evening. Sheriff’s deputy Drew Pinciaro says the trooper was chasing a vehicle that failed to stop for a highway checkpoint. Pinciaro reportedly says the trooper’s lights and siren were on, but it’s not yet clear who had the green light. Police have not yet identified the Nissan’s driver. But Pinciaro says the driver was charged. The trooper was not seriously hurt. Pinciaro says the subject of the initial pursuit got away. (Source: Associated Press)
