Former Gamecock Named CIU Golf Coach

Columbia, S.C. — The first men‘s golf coach at Columbia International University (CIU) is well-known on the links in the Columbia area. George Bryan III golfed for the University of South Carolina in the 1980s and has been involved with various golf initiatives around South Carolina for over 25 years, including creation of the Irmo-Chapin Recreation Commission Golf Program and the George Bryan Golf Academy. Bryan will now create CIU‘s first golf program that will begin competition this fall. Golf becomes CIU‘s fifth sport since entering intercollegiate athletics in 2012. Women‘s soccer also debuts this fall. Please see the attached for a news release with more details and a photo of Coach Bryan. If you would like to talk to Coach Bryan about the new CIU golf program or CIU Athletics Director Kim Abbott (a former USC golf coach herself) about the growing CIU athletics program, or if you need anything else, please let me know.
