Man shot to death in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Police in Columbia are investigating the shooting death of a man after a fight involving the victim and a woman.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons told local media outlets the shooting happened Saturday night after the man entered the woman’s home near Charlie Johnson stadium.

Timmons said the man and woman fought and the woman shot the man.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said 33-year-old Jermaine A. Johnson of Columbia was taken to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where he died.

Timmons said no charges have been filed while the investigation continues.
