SC schools chief participating in workforce meeting
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The chief of South Carolina’s public schools is taking part in a meeting about collaboration in the state.
Education Superintendent Molly Spearman is participating in the annual South Carolina Workforce Development Partnership Symposium on Wednesday in Columbia. The Department of Employment and Workforce says University of South Carolina research economist Joey Von Nessen and Maureen Conway of the Aspen Institute, an educational and policy studies organization, are also slated to address the symposium.
The theme of this year’s event is “Connecting Pieces of South Carolina’s Workforce System.” Workshops and sessions are also scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
