Columbia , S.C. (WOLO) — Best Friends and business partners Corey Simmons and Ramone Dickerson are taking their wing business to the national stage, on their new television series, ‘2 Fat 2 Fly.’ “I did not really see this one coming,” said Simmons. “Wings are special but I didn’t know that we could possibly have an hour long show that people would want to watch.” Named after their Columbia-based food truck, the reality show takes viewers inside their kitchen to see all aspects of growing a business. “You will see that it’s not as easy as the product is good and so that’s been the biggest battle,” said Dickerson. Simmons and Dickerson are known for cooking with a unique twist on tradition, by stuffing their chicken wings with food like mac and cheese. “It’s not about being just a good product, it’s about being something that people didn’t give up on and people just continue to believe in, so it’s like the chicken wing of belief,” said Dickerson. The duo hopes the series has a positive impact on their business’ future. “At this point, I’m feeling like the sky is the limit,” said Simmons. Regardless of what happens after the show, they said they can always count on each other and the city of Columbia to have their back. “I think Columbia is fighting to be a bigger support system than our family and you know when you have a city like that behind you, everything is everything,” said Dickerson. To get the full story of what it’s like for the ‘2 Fat 2 Fly’ guys in the food truck industry, you can tune in on the Oprah Winfrey Network Saturday, February 28.
