You can help victims of fire in the Midlands

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The American Red Cross has been busy within the last 48 hours. Officials say they responded to seven fires across the state, and they’re helping 23 people who have lost their homes. One of those incidents happened in Columbia early Monday morning where three apartments caught fire. We’re still waiting for word on a cause. You can help victims of fire and other disasters by becoming a volunteer for the Red Cross. They make up 96 percent of the organization’s workforce. Officials say the hours are flexible.
