Rhett Helps Rally Rebels By BYU

Hopkins native M.J. Rhett helped Ole Miss rally from a 17-point halftime deficit to come back and beat BYU 94-90 Tuesday night in the NCAA Tournament First Four in Dayton, OH. Rhett, a former Lower Richland standout and son of former Gamecock Joe Rhett, scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half. Ole Miss scored 62 points as a team in the second half to move on to play 6th-seeded Xavier Thursday in Jacksonville, FL. Rhett transferred to Ole Miss this year for his senior season after playing three seasons at Tennessee St. Before earning an 11-seed and a spot in the NCAA Tournament First Four, Ole Miss was eliminated by the Gamecocks in the Rebels’ first game at the SEC Tournament.
