Murder warrants issued for teens in Columbia park shooting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Police say they have arrested a 19-year-old man and are looking for another teen in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy at a Columbia park.

Investigators told local media outlets that Jahmir Taylor was charged with murder Wednesday in last weekend’s shooting near T.S. Martin Park. An arrest warrant for murder has also been issued for 19-year-old Jeremiah Pough, who has not been taken into custody.

Police didn’t release any information about how they determined Taylor and Pough were suspects in the death of Eric Washington

Authorities say Washington was shot in the head as he tried to run and hide from two gunmen angry at him after an argument at a basketball game Sunday.

It wasn’t known if Taylor had a lawyer.
