Columbia hosting baseball and softball expo for children

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Columbia is showcasing its offerings for children interested in participating in softball or baseball clinics this summer.
The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the Saturday expo at Hyatt Park.
The event features games, clinics and entertainment. It’s an opportunity for parents of children ages 4 to 14 to learn more about the city’s baseball and softball offerings.
League play doesn’t start until April 6, but Saturday is the last day to register. The fee to participate is $25, and scholarships are available.
Youth baseball and girls softball is open to boys and girls ages 9-14. City Sluggers, the department’s instructional youth baseball program, is open for boys and girls ages 4-8.
