Congressman’s son named in Clemson University lawsuit

CLEMSON UNIVERSITY (WOLO-AP) — There are new developments in the lawsuit that the parents of a dead Clemson University fraternity student have filed against the school, the fraternity and three of its members. Court records show the son of U.S. Representative John Carney from Delaware is one of the named defendants. The suit is seeking at least 50-million dollars in the death of Tucker Hipps. Authorities say he fell from a bridge into rocky, shallow water during a Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity run last fall. An investigation into Hipp’s death remains open, but no charges have been filled.
