National Weather Service Looking for Storm Spotters

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Spring and summer are known to be prime-time for severe weather. It’s why the National Weather Service is asking for your help. You can become a storm spotter. Storm spotters let forecasters known about any rainfall, flooding, hail and tornadoes seen during storms in their area. To become a storm spotter be sure to attend a “Basic Spotter” training class. There are no fees and registration is not required. Class dates and locations can be found online at http://www.weather.gov/media/cae/Spotter_Classes.pdf.
