Columbia putting on athletics competition for adults

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Time is running out for anyone wanting to participate in an adult athletic competition coming up in Columbia.

Registration ends Friday for the Active Adults Olympic Games.

The games are being held May 18 through 22 and are put on by the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department.

The competitions for adults age 50 and older are held in the evenings and feature activities including basketball, billiards, disc golf, swimming and tennis.

Registration is $20 and includes a souvenir bag, a T-shirt and two wristbands for a finale cookout.
