Special Olympics in Full Swing

(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C.,– It’s time for the 47th Annual Special Olympics Summer Games at Fort Jackson. Organizers say 1,200 athletes and hundreds of coaches, volunteers and spectators are expected on hand for the events. Events kicked off Friday with registration and a dinner for the athletes. Saturday is full of events, including track and field, aquatics, bowling, bocce, gymnastics, badminton, softball and powerlifting. Another athlete dinner is followed by a victory celebration.
