Matt Moore gets 2nd 2-year term as SC Republican chairman
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Republicans have voted to keep Matt Moore as their chairman.
Moore won 83 percent of the vote at Saturday’s convention for a second two-year term.
Republicans already have large majorities in the state Senate and state House and control all statewide officers, booth U.S. Senate seats and six of the state’s seven U.S. House seats.
Moore says his goal now is to spread that Republican dominance to local races.
Republicans running statewide were all re-elected in 2014, extending the margins of their 2010 wins.
