Housing Authority Opens New Grocery Store in Downtown Columbia

Columbia, SC (WOLO)– Residents of Downtown Columbia have a new place to shop. Today the Columbia Housing Authority and Honor Capitol held a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the doors to Save-A-Lot food store in the 2000 block of Harden St. Government officials and members of the community were on hand to usher in the new digs. The 20,000 square ft. store is located in the Celia Saxon shopping center and was constructed by the Columbia Housing Authority as part of a $50 million community hope revitalization program funded in part by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
