Retired Military Leaders: Childhood Obesity Threat to National Security

Columbia, SC (WOLO)–Several high ranking former military members were at the state house Wednesday and they say keeping kids healthy is vital to the future defense of the country. The group of former generals and admirals say obesity is the number one reason why most young adults in South Carolina and across the country cannot serve in the military. They say the solution to that problem begins with ensuring they receive healthy meals at school. The retired generals and admirals urged state legislators to support legislation that ensures that all South Carolina students have access to healthy food during the school day.
