New Study Links School Libraries and Student Success on Tests

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) –School libraries have a fundamental impact on children, according to a study released Tuesday. The South Carolina Association of School Librarians commissioned the study to check the connection between libraries and students’ success. The new study released Tuesday was based on standardized test results. The two phase findings included: K-12 students were more likely to show strengths in both writing and English if their schools had one school librarian and, at least one part time librarian. The study was conducted by the RSL research Group.
